• To assist in administrative procedure required as a result of Government result-oriented management philosophy;
  • To assist in the installation of new administrative procedures to enhance the execution of government policies;
  • To organize and conduct courses for serving public servants to enhance performance;
  • To organize and conduct courses for Stenographers and Confidential Secretaries in order to reduce shortage of personnel in the cadre;
  • To liaise with other similar staff training centres throughout the country so as to maintain comparable standards;
  • To organise induction courses for newly recruited/promoted administrative and professional officers;
  • To continue to lay emphasis on the training and development of clerical staff and middle level management supervisors both in the civil service and local government service;
  • To organize seminars, workshops and conferences aimed at enhancing performance of middle level, senior administrative and professional officers;
  • To prepare and conduct grading tests for serving typists and confidential secretaries;
  • To render assistance to any ministry, department or parastatal that may have a special training programme.
